It is no surprise that Michael Ray loves Chicago! From being a diehard Cubs fan to having life long friends in the city, Michael Ray has become a staple in the Chicago Country community. It felt so good to have him back up on stage at the iconic Joe's on Weed to kick off a killer month on the ACM acclaimed stage. Singing old classics like "Runaway" to his new radio single "Whiskey and Rain" Michael Ray brought down the house his way.
Michael's discography is wildly impressive. Both the crowd and I were so excited to hear old favorites like Get To You, Think a Little Less and Kiss You In The Morning. But one of my favorite parts of the night had to be when Ray threw it back the 90s to cover the Brooks & Dunn classic, Red Dirt Road!
Michael's 2015 Hit Run Away With You
I love how Michael has really built a community and fan base in Chicago! Ray spoke about how he has made so many lifelong friends in our city and even brought one up on stage to sing the Garth Brooks hit Friends In Low Places.
The energy was high and the whiskey was flowing as the night came to a close. Ray showcased songs from his new album "Higher Education" and the packed crowd didn't miss a beat. Michael Ray welcome back to Chicago!
