Don’t let her small stature fool you, Tenille Townes is a fire cracker! On her first headlining tour, the Albertan Tenille Townes played to a packed house at Chicago’s Joe’s on Weed! The audience sang with her from start to finish, even the few covers she performed in her own style. To say she was delighted of the welcome she received would be an understatement. Her fans were loud, happy and ready to party.
Tenille touched on ‘90s female alternative rock with songs “White Horse” and “Come As You Are,” but it was a pair of covers that surprised me the most! First was a cover of Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic,”that Townes successfully urged swaths of concertgoers to sing along to. The second was a fun, straightforward spin on Joan Jett and the Blackheart’s “I Hate Myself For Loving You.”
Tenille showed how dynamic she can be by slowing down the show performing her chilling “Villian in Me” and the song for her late great grandmother “Meet My Maker”
The firey readhead filled the stage with her voice and larger than life stage presence! Chicago concert goers are up every moment, leaving it truly a night to remember!
