Who knew that hanging out with 25,000 of your country music friends was exactly what Chicago needed. Windy City Smokeout was a welcomed celebration for live music back in Chicago.
After a devastating year of no live music in Chicago. Windy City Smokeout took a stab at re-introducing music festivals in a post Covid era. My opinion did they do it right? Absolutely!
The festival found itself once again in the United Center parking lot, but this time with 30% more capacity to after safety and security of their country music lovers!
Long before the first band took to the stage, Chicago’s first real party was back! People enjoying first beers and the first selfies with friends! High-fiving strangers never felt so good! All the festival goers beemed in the light at the end of the COVID tunnel.
With 17 of today’s biggest names in country alongside, some of the biggest names and barbecue it was hard to find a frown in the crowd. Not to mention the over 30 beer vendors and countless Chicago restaurant staples found a happy home in the United Center parking lots.
Just as eager to get back to the live music as their fans were. The headliners across the weekend - Brett Eldredge, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi sang to nightly crowds of 20k plus! No matter where you watched the music from, the energy was high.
The traditional and unpredictable Chicago weather didn’t stop Country music fans and some watched from under a tent or basked in the concert glory under a poncho. But luckily the sun did shine most of the time and people were able to revel and what I know we all miss so much!

The busiest day of the fast can sometimes be the rowdiest! With a VIP ticket you get elevated viewing area plus private bathrooms in a little bit more wiggle room.
3-Have To Go To The Bathroom?
Head to the back of the fast where the luxurious Porta potty‘s often have much shorter lines than going inside the united center.

Not only does this allow you to hang out with your friends but it allows you guys to divide and conquer and break up some of those food and beer lines!
